Ascension plans to acquire independent system Williamson Health for nearly $1B

The offer, unanimously approved by Williamson's board of trustees, includes a $700 million price tag and $250 million of capital support over 10 years, beating out other proposals from HCA Healthcare and Optum. The partners are now working on a nonbinding letter of intent for county board approval.
