Sodexo Inc., the leading provider of integrated facilities management and foodservice operations and dining services provider to Springhill Medical Center, hosted a “How Does Our Garden Grow" event with Craighead Elementary School. Sodexo along with Springhill Medical Center, Jubilee Landscapes, ASM, Home Depot 825, and Fausak Tires helped the students rebuild their community garden at the school. This taught the children how to grow and maintain wholesome foods so they can share the information with their families.
Sodexo’s Stop Hunger "How Does Our Garden Grow" was part of Servathon, a company initiative held each April in which employees around the world join forces to fight hunger in their local communities. Servathon is Sodexo's largest global Stop Hunger event.
According to Feeding America, Alabama’s population is currently food insecure. Even more shocking is the fact that more than 18% of the children in the state are food insecure. These staggering local hunger statistics underline the importance of events like Servathon. Sodexo is proud of our partnership with Springhill Medical Center, and we especially take pride in our volunteer work fighting hunger in our community.
