Springhill’s Medical Staff Elects Officers

The Springhill Medical Center Medical Staff elected officers at its recent Annual Meeting. The 2016-17 officers are:
Kristie Burch, M.D. — President
Brooke Lenz, M.D. — Vice President/President-Elect
M. Wail Hashimi, M.D. — Secretary
Brian Sumrall, M.D. — Member at Large
Committee Chairmen also were appointed as follows: Matthew Barber, M.D., Surgery; Brian Sumrall, M.D., Medicine; Katelyn Braswell, M.D., OB/GYN; Steven Sprayberry, M.D., Pharmacy & Therapeutics; David Inge, M.D., Radiation Safety; Liston Jones, M.D., Utilization Review/HIM; and Michael Bindon, M.D., Emergency Department.
Springhill Medical Center offers our sincere appreciation to all of the 2015-16 medical staff officers for their service and to our outgoing Chief of Staff, Dr. Roger Setzler.
Springhill Medical Center is a 263-bed acute care hospital accredited by The Joint Commission. Since 1975, Springhill has grown and expanded its services in the southwest Alabama market while maintaining more nurses to each patient for a personal approach and 1-to-1 nurse/patient ratio for childbirth services. Today SMC includes the hospital, a unique and comprehensive heart center, senior residence, cancer center, athletic club, orthopaedic surgery center, sleep medicine center, wound care and hyperbaric medicine, newly renovated labor and delivery suites, a newly expanded Emergency Department, and is the only hospital in the Mobile area with all emergency department physicians board certified in emergency medicine.
