FDA deepens Vertex’s Casgevy label, opening treatment for patients as young as 2

Vertex Pharmaceuticals has gained a label expansion from the FDA, which allows children ages 2 and up to receive the gene therapy Casgevy for the treatment of sickle cell disease or transfusion-dependent beta thalassemia. The drug had already been approved for patients ages 12 and older.
